The Philadelphia Dentist is a dentist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 7718 Castor Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19152, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In Philadelphia, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across Pennsylvania, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 7 amβ7 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (215) 342-7718. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, thephiladelphiadentist.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 237 reviews, which is a strong result for a dentist in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.
Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

What a awesome Dental office. Staff is amazing. Doctors are amazing. Very fast appointments. Emergencies are A plus. I had a severe toothache. I seen Dr. Schriftman that day I called. He gave me a rx that day and got me in the following day, Saturday morning 7am. Pulled the tooth and I was on my way pain free. 9/5/26 root canal Dr. Ambriz . Fantastic doctor. I was extremely nervous. The Doctor was hilarious, asking me if I was nervous π€£. Understatement. He and Rachel made me feel very comfortable. I have only good things to say about this office. I highly recommend this office. Great friendly staff.

First I want to thank everyone here! I was in the worst pain of my life after a root canal done at a different dentist and of course they were closed. After a night of no sleep, I came across (The Philadelphia Dentist) and the hours said they are open 7 days a week which a lot of other places say this as well but really are not. I text the office 10 minutes before they opened and got a response within minutes telling me to give them a call. They were able to get me in right away! I live over an hour away and I will not hesitate to make this trip again if I ever need to! If youβre reading this and are in pain do not hesitate to call The Philadelphia Dentist! Iβm so glad I found them and hope they continue to stay around for years to come. Itβs insane to me that this was truly the only place I could find open on weekends and holidays and they exceeded any of my expectations. Thanks again to everyone there who treated me with the compassion that I needed in a time of excruciating pain. Cannot say enough good things and recommend them to anyone!

Worst experience I ever had for dentistry. The facility was dirty, the white lady was rude and condescending. The price for services was 120% higher than other similar places. Because I decided, to go to another dentist, they prescribed me medication that I listed as an allergy. It was so bad, it created friction between me and my spouse. Stay away.

I am just kind of confused. Reading other peopleβs experiences here vs my husbandβs. If I could give no stars I would. I donβt understand how a place wants to charge you full price when you have dental insurance, to then say get reimbursed by your insurance, when it should be decided right then and there if the insurance fully covers or partially covers. The examination was $80-90, he paid. He was then told $4500 first and at the end it was $9k. It is understandable due to the circumstances of the tooth. However, giving an attitude and saying βwell we told you the priceβ when a patient claims they have insurance and it should adjust the price, is foul. At the end you get taken advantage of because 9/10 the insurance is not going to 100% pay for a root canal or crowning. So why canβt you use insurance prices upfront? Would hate to see someone pay 9k out of pocket and not get any sort of reimbursement. All he needed was an emergency appointment but will continue to go to his primary dentist office.

By far the best experience with a dentist i ever had. very nice staff that went out of the way to make sure I was comfortable before starting... Had two wisdom teeth pulled for a cheaper price then the last place I went to by almost half. saving money without compromising on quality by any means 10 out of 10 highly recommend
